IBS has announced it will be a major sponsor of the European Union of Electrical Wholesalers (EUEW) General Assembly in Brussels on June 6, 2008. By sponsoring this event, IBS is confirming its commitment as the leading supplier of IT solutions dedicated to the Electrical Wholesaling industry.

Davide Spada, Vice President Electrical for IBS, explains why IBS has chosen to sponsor the EUEW General Assembly.

IBS is the only major international ERP software provider to have a fully dedicated solution for the electrical wholesale industry. To continue this level of investment in the product, we want to make sure we continue to develop the product in line with the actual trends, challenges and requirements of the industry. By sponsoring the EUEW General Assembly, we will be at the front line of the industry, involved first hand with the concerns and requirements of the industry and able to build this information into our on-going research and development programs.”

Yves de Coorebyter, General Secretary of the EUEW, says:

We are delighted to have IBS as a key sponsor of our General Assembly. There are many important issues being discussed at the Assembly, which will have major long-term effects on European wholesalers. As a consequence, further enhancement of the software will certainly been necessary. The fact that IBS wants to be closely involved in the proceedings shows their very important interest in our business, and from the evidence of their past performance, gives us confidence that they will continue their efforts to deliver software solutions that meet the specific demands of our industry.

The main theme for the EUEW General Assembly will be the future directives, standards and rules that will influence the electrical wholesale industry. These include upcoming directives in national laws, changes in standardization and main political changes. The Assembly will also discuss the opportunities and threats to their business from these directives. Davide Spada adds:

For IBS, this is an excellent opportunity to fully understand how the electrical wholesale industry is reacting and responding to external political forces. We believe it is essential that the IT systems work in tandem with the business and provide all the necessary functionality and support wholesalers need to meet the demands. We want to ensure our investment in product development is spent on achieving real benefit and added value for the whole electrical wholesale industry, not just individual customers. We believe this event will help deliver this objective, as well as raise the overall profile of IBS within the industry.”
