Company Recognized By Analyst Community for its Leadership and Vision in Business Transaction Management and Performance Monitoring Software

NEW YORK on 18 February 2011

OpTier™, the leader in Business Transaction Management (BTM) for the enterprise, today announced 85 percent annual revenue growth in 2010 through sales in new and existing market segments. The company has 50 percent of its customer base in Global 1000 companies, with many in the top 100 of that list. OpTier continues to broaden its customer portfolio, including leading U.S. insurance companies, tier-one service providers in EMEA and Asia Pacific, and financial service firms ranging in size from tens of thousands of employees to just a few hundred employees. The analyst community again recognized OpTier this year for its leadership and vision in BTM and performance monitoring software.

Expanding Markets

OpTier continues to grow its footprint geographically and in new vertical markets. In addition to covering the U.S. and EMEA, the company successfully expanded its customer base in Asia Pacific. Along with securing new customer wins in existing markets such as manufacturing, financial services and insurance, OpTier saw growth in the telecommunications market directly and through a partnership with Amdocs (NYSE: DOX). The partnership agreement enables Amdocs to resell OpTier BTM™, offering its customers visibility into all end-user transactions to avoid revenue losses from order fall out, improve customer satisfaction and reduce customer churn. Through Amdocs and directly, OpTier was able to add new tier-one telecommunication customers such as O2, a business division of Telefonica S.A.

“Excellent customer satisfaction is critical to our success,” said Chris Dollimore, lead OSS architect at O2. “We selected the OpTier BTM solution to provide end-to-end visibility across a wide number of IT applications. We expect to significantly enhance the overall customer experience by using OpTier BTM to understand service performance for each customer across our IT services.”

Expanding Product Portfolio

OpTier announced a significant new release to its industry-leading business transaction performance management software, incorporating new diagnostics capabilities. OpTier BTM 4 is the most comprehensive solution for end-to-end business transaction management and application performance management from the end-user, cross-application, datacenter and cloud perspectives. It includes end-user experience management, application transaction profiling, application diagnostics, support for enterprise service buses, auto-discovery of service dependencies and complex event processing (CEP).

In 2010, OpTier continued to innovate by introducing new performance management offerings including:

OpTier Experience Manager Plus BTM Starter Edition—A low cost, seamlessly integrated proactive performance monitoring software solution that enables fast problem resolution and outage avoidance. To support this new offering, OpTier announced a relationship with Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN) to deliver optimized end user experience using both synthetic and real user monitoring solutions.

CloudFirst—A business-centric application performance management solution for enterprise customers adopting private, hybrid and public cloud computing solutions.

Business Events Module—Real-time analytics built upon a CEP engine, to enable rapid, proactive and well-informed decisions about business critical activities.

Industry Accolades

Solidifying its leadership in IT management software, the company rounded out the year with recognition from leading analyst firms and industry awards. OpTier BTM was recognized by both Network Products Guide and the Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) CODiE Awards. OpTier was also selected as a finalist for the IBM WebSphere Impact Conference 2010 “Smarter Decision Management Award.”

Analyst support for OpTier continued to grow in 2010 with prominent placement in reports from Gartner, Forrester, IDC and EMA. OpTier was placed as the most “visionary” of visionaries in the Gartner APM Magic Quadrant published in early 2010. In September, a Forrester report titled “Competitive Analysis: Application Performance Management and Business Transaction Monitoring—A SWOT Analysis of APM and BTM Software Vendors” called OpTier the “company that defined BTM” and “the BTM reference.”

IDC also wrote a positive report about OpTier’s cloud capabilities, and EMA recognized OpTier BTM as the “best transaction-centric BSM” solution available in its research report titled “EMA Radar™ For Business Service Management (BSM): Service Impact.” In the EMA report, OpTier was grouped along side companies such as IBM (Nasdaq:IBM), HP (Nasdaq:HPQ), and BMC (Nasdaq:BMC) in the “Strong Value” category. Additionally EMA recognized OpTier as a “strong value vendor” and awarded them the “best real-time, transaction-centric service model” in the report issued in December 2010 titled, “EMA Radar for Application Discovery and Dependency Mapping.”

“We have made tremendous strides in 2010 both in customer acquisitions and the introduction of new product capabilities thanks to the dedication of our employees. Our commitment to leading the next generation of business-oriented IT management drives us to pursue even greater milestones in the coming year,” said Israel Mazin, CEO of OpTier. “We look forward to working with our customers and partners as we continue to develop industry-leading capabilities for business transaction driven application performance management.”
