Interoute: valued link in the EUROVISION live sports & media events broadcast chain

Interoute, owner-operator of Europe’s largest cloud services platform, plays a key role in delivering thousands of hours of seamless coverage to Members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

Interoute was the principal optical fibre provider used by EUROVISION, operated by EBU, to share television and radio feeds from the International Broadcast Centre for a major sports event last summer, with more than 70 media organisations in and around Europe. On this occasion, more than 9,000 hours of live coverage was made available to viewers.

To guarantee uninterrupted viewing, EUROVISION seeks to have multiple-protected, high capacity network services as part of its video contribution network. Interoute also provides video and audio signal distribution to a number of broadcasters on behalf of EUROVISION, and supports the EBU’s intercity high capacity core network.
