London, UK – 27th September 2017Interoute, the global cloud and network provider, has been revealed as the winner of the Cloud Integration Product of the Year and Best Software-Defined Product at this year’s Cloud Excellence Awards ceremony. The awards aim to identify the very best of the UK’s cloud industry and the Interoute Enterprise Digital Platform (EDP) was recognised for its ability to accelerate cloud adoption, deliver applications faster and offer greater security.

Interoute EDP was distinguished for providing cloud infrastructure that is fully integrated with a low latency, high throughput network so applications are delivered closer to the end user and with superior performance. The software defined, network and multi-cloud platform also allows technology investments to be integrated without re-factoring applications. Services can be added, deleted, changed or replicated, all through code and without calling operations, using a web portal or API that provides direct control over a customer’s compute, storage and network infrastructure globally.

“The Cloud Excellence Awards are contested by some of the best companies in the cloud industry,” said Matthew Finnie, CTO of Interoute. “As an organisation, we are continually pushing to be at the top of the game with our pursuit of continual innovation and world class service for our customers. I’m delighted to see the Interoute Enterprise Digital Platform recognised not only as the best solution for cloud integration but as a leader in software defined products as well.”

Computing Magazine’s Cloud Excellence Awards are designed to reward those companies that lead the pack in driving the cloud industry. Finalists were selected based on the features of the product, the level of innovation and examples of how the product is being successfully used to change the way organisations approach the cloud. A combination of industry analysts, computing and cloud experts selected the winners.

The latest award comes after Interoute was positioned as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Europe earlier this year. Interoute EDP is comprised of 17 Virtual Data Centre zones which are spread across 12 countries and continents. All these centres are built into Interoute’s vast, high performance, global network.
